David Christensen
Organ and Carillon Instructor
David Christensen is currently University Carillonneur at the University of California, Riverside. He has served in this position since 1987 and is also organ Instructor in the Department of Music. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Redlands where he received bachelor and master degrees in Music.
At UC Riverside, Mr. Christensen studied carillon with Lowell Smith and Margo Halsted. He has performed carillon concerts throughout the United States and Canada. Mr. Christensen served for 7 years as Organist at the First Methodist Church of Riverside, 14 years as Director of Music at the First Congregational Church of Riverside and is currently Organist and Handbell Choir director at Eden Lutheran Church in Riverside. He taught music in the community college system for 25 years. In July 2007 Mr. Christensen performed on the organ concert series at St. Mary's Cathedral, San Francisco, and in July 2008 will appear on the concert series of Trinity Episcopal Church in Reno, Nevada.
