Choral Society
The UC Riverside Choral Society studies and performs significant choral
literature from all
periods of music history. The ensemble is open to UCR students, faculty and
members of the
community at large. The chorus performs at the end of each academic quarter
on campus, in
Riverside area churches, and/or performance venues in the city of Los
Angeles. The conductor is
Dr. Edward Bruner, and the accompanist is UCR music librarian, Caitlin St.
John.
The UC Riverside Choral Society rehearses on MW, 11:40-1:00 in ARTS 157,
plus one extra
rehearsal and a dress rehearsal prior to each concert. Auditions for the UCR
Choral Society are
held at the eginning of the fall, winter and spring quarter. The audition
consists of singing
vocalizes and exercises demonstrating the performer's musicianship. The
class may be taken for
1-2 credits and may be repeated.
